Landscape Evaluation for Biological Diversity in the Laketown Township Study Area
The following document is the first in a series of reports directed towards the continuing analysis on the existing environmental conditions of the Laketown Township area. The Landscape Evaluation for Biological Diversity in the Laketown Township area primarily focuses on the forest, wetland, and aquatic habitats located within the study area. Focusing on these conditions, the key goals of this report are to:
Conduct ecological assessments of current habitat systems within the study area
Identify critical habitat within the study area based on the principles of habitat quality
and biological diversity
Recommend areas for restoring and enhancing natural habitat within the study area
This report is designed in effort to provide an understanding of the existing ecological conditions as well
as provide guidelines to assist in developing a sustainable and effective land use plan. The overall
intention of this report is to help provide a plan that will ensure the protection of the natural habitat
resources located in the Laketown Township area.
